Sid's Hardware Store Closes In Downtown Brooklyn

After 78 years in Downtown Brooklyn, Sid's Hardware store at 345 Jay Street (in the National Grid building) has closed up shop. They will be moving to 435 Hamilton Ave. where they can cater more to contractors.

Originally located on Myrtle Ave., Sid's was the first retailer to move to MetroTech in 1991. The only store that carried lumber and a full array of paints, plumbing supplies, lighting and professional building equipment in the Downtown area, their closing is a loss.
