Christmas Trees Popping Up Like Mushrooms in Brooklyn

Do Christmas tree vendors coordinate their arrival on the shores of Brooklyn?

From Brooklyn Heights (above, on Montague Street) to Dumbo to Cobble Hill, the evergreens have been popping up like mushrooms. An informal survey found the average price to be $10 per foot. Can anybody point us to cheaper more recession-friendly prices?

BTW, Wikipedia tells us there has historically been opposition to the custom of the Christmas tree because of its alleged pagan origins.
